With this guide and the three books: D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths, Famous Men of Rome, and The Golden Children's Bible), you will learn how to teach, learn, and master these basic stories that are so fundamental to a classical education. The Guide contains a three-year reading plan, a pronunciation guide, an incremental schedule of meaningful learning activities, and much more. To understand how Christ changed the world radically and eternally, step back in time and learn why Scripture calls the classical age "the fullness of time." Charts and explanatory notes such as "Christ Conquers Caesar" contrast the pagan and Christian order and show how Christ was the fulfillment of all of history. Read and reread the classical stories at a leisurely pace, and you and your child will have time to reflect, ponder, and wonder about the timeless and universal stories from the City of God and the City of Man. Your children will be well prepared for advanced classical studies. | | | Product Details: | | | Author:

This teacher's guide from Memoria Press incorporates lessons plans from 3 living books: D'Aulaire's Greek Myths, The Golden Children's Bible, and Famous Men of Rome. It is geared toward the 3-5 grades but could be modified for slightly younger and older kids - especially older kids who are new to the classical model or haven't been exposed to much ancient history. The lessons are well planned out and not too overwhelming.

By Corinne I bought this not knowing or understanding that I duplicated my student material. This is an old instruction manual that incorporates three books by Cheryl Lowe. I love her curriculum but I bought new and this old material. I now learned my mistake after calling Memorial Press. This curriculum is well laid out but this book is their old material. They have since replaced it with new student guides and teacher guides which I think is much more organized and easy to follow. My students are busy actors and have to independently study on set. I believe they would have been lost if I stayed with just this book. Get the new student guides and teacher guides for each subject and learning is more simple.
